My all-time favorite Lions Offense

Here is a my all-time favorite players for the Lions on Offense.

QB Erik Kramer 1991-1994




Why: He is only QB to lead the Lions to a play-off vicotry in my lifetime. I was there.

Stats: 10-5 as a starter 281/509/19 3408 23td 72/103/3 866 5td in 3 playoff games.


Running Backs

Billy Sims 1980-1984

Mr. C, son and Billy
Why: Easily my favorite player of all-time. Brought the Lions from 2-14 to almost winning a play-off game.

Stats: 60 games 1131/5106/42 186 rec 2072 5td 26/133/2 rush 10 rec 94 yards 0 td  in 2 playoff games

Tom "the Bomb" Tracy 1956-1957


Why: The only player from my high school to play in the NFL and he helped to Lions to their last title 1957.

Stats: 28/78/0 9 rec 30 yards  Playoffs: 11/86 2 td 1 rec 7 yards.

Wide Receivers

Anthony Carter 1994-1995



Why: My favorite college player and USFL player of all-time. He signed with the Lions late in his career.

Stats: 7 games 8rec 97 yards 2 KOR 46 yards.

Mike Furrey 2006-2008




Why: Tough guy who played both ways in the NFL. He had really no skill but found a way to get it done. He was cut from the Lions because he wanted to play with a concussion. Furrey got that concussion blocking on the KOR team. At the lunch room in Allen Park, he got into it with Mayhew and he was done. How many Lions have fought to play?

Tight End 1976-1982

David "ain't no thrill" Hill



Why: First off was a singer on my favorite song "Another one bites the dust", 2nd Great Touchdown dances.

Keith Dorney 1979-1987




Why: Solid lineman are rare in Lions history, here is one.
Stats: 112 Games 110 starts Pro Bowl 1982 UPI All-NFC 1981,1985

Lomas Brown 1985-1995


Why:  Solid lineman are rare in Lions history, here is one.
stats: 164 g 163 starts Pro Bowls 1990-1996 All-Pro 1995

Guards

Erik Andolsek 1988-1991


Why: Solid guard early in his career when he was killed mowing his lawn in Louisiana.
Stats: 61 games 48 starts

Mike Utley 1989-1991


Why: Good solid guard for the 1991 team. Was paralyzed vs. the Rams on 11/17/1991 in the dome.
Stats: 32 games 17 starts

Center

Kevin Glover 1985-1997

Why: The Lions have had some good center but Glover was the best.
Stats: 177 games 161 starts Pro Bowls 1995-1997 All-NFC 1994-1997 (PFW) All-NFC 1995-1996 (UPI) All-NFL 2nd Team 1996

Kicker

Benny Ricardo 1976-1979


Why: Was college friends (SDSU) with a neighbor
Stats: 40/60 FG 76/80 XP 1 punt 16 yards 1FR

Return man

Mel Gray 1989-1994


Why: Awesome player. He had a PR td vs. The Packers to seal the division in 1991. The last time we defeated the Packers in Green Bay.
