Detroit Lions promote RB George Winn place Montell Owens on IR

The Detroit Lions promote RB George Winn from the practice squad. Winn was picked up as free agent in the off season. He is from Cincinnati and U of D Jesuit. Theo Riddick, Joquie Bell and Montell Owens were injured in the Jets win. Expect Riddick and Bell to be inactive on Sunday.

Detroit Lions won a tight game with the NY Jets to run the their record to 3-1 and claim 1st place in the NFC North.

Detroit Lions claim LB Josh Bynes from Ravens

The Lions have replaced Stephen Tulloch with a Raven practice squad linebacker, Josh Bynes. Bynes was cut from the Ravens in August and benefited from the new practice squad rules. He played for the Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin in Baltimore.

Detroit Lions place MLB Stephen Tulloch on injured reserve

Lions placed starting MLB Stephen Tulloch on season ending injured reserve. Tulloch who had never missed a game in his 9 NFL career, was injured mocking Aaron Rodgers with the discount double check. Tully had  lost a step on pass coverage but was still an effective plugger tackle to tackle. His leadership will be missed the most. Look for Tahir Whitehead and Ashlee Palmer to replace him.
