Detroit Lions RB, WR 1st four games
Running backs
Kevin Smith
After starting the first two games with moderate success, Smith has barely been on the field. I believe they are keeping him fresh for later in the season. Smith has played 90 snaps averaging 4 yards per carry. 1.9 ave after contact. Smith is an average player.
Joique Bell
A pleasant surprise this season. Has shown power and fresh legs. He lacks any speed but runs hard. He has played 70 snaps averaging 3.1 per carry.
Mikel LeShoure
LeShoure has returned from injury and eating drugs. He has played 94 snaps and has a 51% succes rate on his runs. He looked bad vs. the Vikings running east/west and fumbling. The jury is out on Mikel.
Receivers
Calvin Johnson
By any matrix, Clavin Johnson is still a dominant player. Football Outsiders rank him # 1 and Pro Football Focus rank him # 3. 67% catch rate on 42 targets. He has drawn two interefence penalties for 60 yards. He has 3 drops. The Vikings game was by far his worst game this season.
Nate Burleson
Burleson has been solid this season. He ranks # 59 in the NFL and has 71% catch rate on 30 targets and only 1 drop. He has made a couple nice third down catches on tough throws. He has 80 yards of YAC.
Titus Young
Young has struggled this year. It has been a great downfall of the offense. He ranks last in the NFL in effciency. A catch rate of 60% 1 drop and 3 penalties. He has not shown the ability to get open like last year.
Ryan Broyles
A 2nd round pick coming off ACL surgery, Broyles had made zero impact. He has played 20 snaps has 1 target and dropped it. He showed rare ability in college and we need it with schef and Titus struggling.
