Defensive Line is supposed to be the strength of the team. They have been average. They rank # 11 agaisnt the run and a diasappointing 18th rushing the passer.

Cliff Avril

$10.5 Million man has a bad back and has been okay this season.  He ranks at #39 with dismal play vs. the run. His positive impact has been in the rush. 2 sacks 4 hits. He has committed 2 penalities. CLiff has been our best end but has not played to his franchise tag. Opponents ave. 4.24 yards per carry at him 21st in the NFL.

KVB

Kyle ranks as the worst DE in the NFL. He did have an average performance vs. the Vikings after killing us the 1st three weeks. He has played 184 snaps 2 sacks 2 hits 2 penalties. A dismal showing against the run giving 4.76 per carry for 23rd in the NFL. 
WIllie Young

Young has made little impact this season. He has played 77 snaps with 1 tackle, 1 pen. His play has been a little better the KVB, not much but better. A disappointing showing for Willie.

Lo Jack

Injuries have hamper Jackson again this season. 47 snaps no pass rush 3 tackles vs. the run. He has probably become a run stopper and not a pass rusher. Hopefully, he will get his health back.

Tackles

Suh

The #51 tackle in the league. His pass rush has been fine, 3 sacks 2 hits only 1 pen. His play vs. the run has been bad. Mostly because of being trapped or whammed. He has 6 run stops this season. Opponents rank about 10th in the NFL in aveage in the middle averageing about 3.4 per carry.

Corey Williams

After a dominant week vs. the Rams Injuries have slowed Corey. He was terrible vs. the 49ers and bad vs. the Titans. 125 snaps 2 sacks 1 hit. He has struggled vs. the run.

Sammie Hill

Ranked # 28 in the league has been the best player on the fron 7 this season. 93 snaps and the best run rating by far on the team. He helps to keep the opponent honest vs. Suh. We need to re-sign this guy.

Nick Fairley

A ppor showing this season by Nick. #56 in the league. 103 snaps 1 sack. THe more he plays the worse he gets. The Vikings game he was horrible. A bust so far.


Linebackers

Stephen Tulloch

Bad season for Stephen. 243 snaps 6 missed tackles 2 penalties. He ranks # 33 for MLB this season. There are 32 teams.  His game vs. Minnesota was the worst of his Lions career. If he plays at this level we are in trouble.

DeAndre Levy

Levy has been up and down this season. Mostly down, He ranks # 40 at OLB. Poor showing against the run and pass. 5 missed tackles and 91% comp rate by opponents in the pass game. Terrible vs. the 49ers and Vikings. Average vs the Rams and Titans.

Justin Durant

#26  at OLB really good vs. the run poor against the pass. 191 snaps 2 missed tackles 77% comp rate. awful vs. the 49ers. Played well against the Vikings. The only guy who could tackle AD.


The front seven has been very, very disappointing.
