Detroit Lions promote S Ricardo Silva and Waive CB Jerome Murphy

Saturday the Lions promote 2nd year Safety Ricardo Silva from the practice squad. He played 4 games last season plus the playoff game. He played strictly special teams. Silva made the 53 man squad only to be waived following the signing of Drayton Florence. His injury to shoulder in the last preseason game was probably a factor.

Here is a tribute:

Silva made 5 tackles and had a PBU in his 1st NFL start.

In the preseason, Silva played 8 games
30 tackles 2 picks

Lions waive Jerome Murphy. A third year player from Souith Florida, he played 2 special teams snaps in the historic loss to the Titans. He has played for the Rams and Saints this season. He could be resigned after bye.

Good Luck Jerome.
