Detroit Lions waive S Jerome Couplin and TE Jordan Thompson

Lions make some moves as they prepare to return from the bye vs. Miami. Detroit waives UDFA rookie S Jerome Couplin. He was the primary back up when Ihedigbo and Carey were hurt early in the season. Couplin should return to the practice squad.

Thompson is a 1st year player out of Ohio. He played at TE for the injured Fauria, Pettigrew and Ebron. He is best known for his drop vs. the Saints that led to an interception. Thompson is practice squad eligible.

The Lions have two spot open on the practice squad with Couplin signing to the 53 last week and Mike Harris being signed by the Giants. Detroit will likely add Kyle Van Noy off IR and a DT to replace Fairley. That could Jimmy Sadler-McQueen.

Here is a tribute:

Jerome Couplin has played 8 games in Detroit
2 tackles

Thompson has played 2 games in Detroit
