Detroit Lions promote S Nate Ness and place OT Corey Hilliard on IR


Detroit Lions promote CB-S Nate Ness to the 53 man roster. He replaces Bill Bentley who tore his ACL in the 1st quarter of the season opener. Ness has experience at both CB and Safety. He is a ball hawk, making 7 interceptions in 25 games at Arizona. His 2 years at El Camino JC he had 19 picks and 8td.

He has spent time with the Browns, Jets, Seahawks, Dolphins, Washington, Rams and Panthers. He has 8 career NFL games and 1 start making 8 tackles.

Lions place veteran OT Corey Hilliard on season ending injured reserve. He suffered a LisFranc injury to foot in the 3rd quarter of MNF. Corey taped it up and finished the game, as he replaced the injured LaAdrian Waddle early in the 1st quarter.
