Detroit Lions attend workout of Tank Carradine

Along with 10 others teams, Lions took a last look at FSU De Tank Carradine. He torn his ACL vs. Florida 135 days ago. He performed 32 reps at 225 and ran the 40 at around 4.75. Played to a draw vs. UF OT Xavier Nixon. Nixon is a 3rd day guy.

Carradine is not a speed rusher. He rarely turns the corner vs. tackles. Plays with good leverage and toughness against the run. Good motor. I see him as a run stopping end for the Lions but I do not like him in the top 40. Late 2nd or 3 rd

Detroit Lions draft preview trade with Miami possiblity

One trade I want to explore is the Miami trading up their pick # 12 to the Lions for their # 5.

On the NFL draft value chart their is about a 500 point difference. The Dolphins would have to trade pick # 42 (480 points) and a pick or two in the 6th or 7th round. They have pick #146 (33 points) in the 5th round   # 217 (4.6 points)  and #224 (2 Points) in the 7th round.

Basically the trade would probably be something like this Lions get #12, #42, #146 for # 5 and pick # 211.

No elite tackle but you pick up possiblity Austin and additional corner like Amerson or Banks. Tackle would come later.

Drafting a DT at 12 would be either Sharriff Floyd (Probably gone) Sheldon Richardson or Star Loytulelei
Either guy would replace Suh in 2015.

Detroit Lions workout DT Will Campbell

Former U of M and Detroit Cass Tech lineman Will Campbell worked out for the Lions.

He was an enigma at Ann Arbor bouncing around from position to position. He played DT and had a solid senior year. He turned heads at the East West Game and a solid pro day.
