Detroit Lions DE Kerry Hyder and Brandon Copeland out for the Season


Detroit Lions lose two players for the season during the first preseason game.

Kerry Hyder tore his Achilles on the second series of the game. He was a projected starter at DE. He led the team in sacks, hit and tackles for loss in 2016. With Ansah, Washington, and Bryant all hurt this is a major blow to the Lions defense.

Brandon Copeland tore his pec in the third quarter of the game. Copeland was a valuable back up at DE and Sam Linebacker. He was a core special teams player. His injury hurts the Lions depth and coverage units.
