Detroit Lions release CB Chris Houston

Detroit Lions release veteran CB Chris Houston. Houston struggled in 2013, opponents targets him 74 times connecting 46 times for 683 yards and 3 touchdowns. He had all of the Lions' CB interceptions with 2. CH23 was rewarded with a $25 Million contract after a strong 2012. He carries $5.2 Million in dead money over this year and next divided evenly.

This has to go down as one of the worst deals the Lions have ever done. They the guy, he gets hurt and they give up on him. This was not obviously the plan because the Lions did almost nothing at CB this off-season.

Here is a tribute:

Houston's brightest moment in Detroit
2011 pick 6 in the comeback at Dallas

Chris started 54 games in Detroit
