Detroit Lions promote CB Chris Greenwood and waive WR Michael Spurlock


Lions made roster moves in the wake of the knee injury to CB Darius Slay. Slay tore a meniscus during practice on Wednesday. His season is in question leaving the Lions shorthanded at corner.

Lions promote 2012 5th round pick Chris Greenwood from the practice squad. He was injured the entire 2012 season and waived following training camp in 2013. He signed with a three week stint with Dallas in October but returned to Detroit. Now he gets his shot.

 To make room for Greenwood, Lions release veteran return man Michael Spurlock. He was demoted by the play of Jeremy Ross. Spurlock was inactive three games this season.
