Detroit Lions draft preview Jack LB

The Lions released 2 year starter Devon Kennard. The Lions signed Jamie Collins and have Austin Bryant on the roster. Kennard struggled winning one on one on the pass rush. Jack LB needs to be strong enough to set the edge, quick enough to supply edge pressure and agile enough to drop into short zones.

Excellent burst and bend on the pass rush. Nimble enough to play in space but much better getting after the passer. Will have to work on anchoring against the run. 4-3 teams will covet this player in the middle of the first round. 38 g 19 sacks 37 tfl 2 ff

Elite burst and bend off the edge. Can drop if needed. Will need to learn to play the run better and is probably better off in the 4-3 scheme. Should be gone in the first 20 picks. 26g 9.5 sacks 19 TFL

Versatile player who can off the ball (Only 76 snaps) and rush the passer. The team that selects him will have to find the right mix for him. Can make plays in space and bend on the pass rush. Needs more weight to play over the TE. Played for the North in the Senior Bowl, mostly at off the ball LB.. 39 games 15 sacks 30.5 TFL 3 FF 2 int

Terrell Lewis Alabama 6053 262 37" 1004 6.6 2nd round
Often injured player with a NFL skill set. Ideal player to play Jack in this scheme. I would be nervous drafting him on the first two days because of the medical. 58 games 8 sacks 14.5 TFL

Played very well at the Senior Bowl for the North. Nursed an injured hamstring all season. Lacks ideal length for the edge. Can play in space as a drop guy. Showed good burst and excellent bend in the pass rush game. 39 games 16.5 sacks 20.5 TFL 2 FF

Season ended early with a broken leg. Has the strength to play over the TE and the burst to rush the passer. Intriguing prospect. 45 games 15.5 sacks 24 TFL 4 FF 2int

Darrell Taylor Tennessee 6035 267 6.2 4th round
Fast and fluid player. Can rush and drop. Has injury concern, along with needing to anchor better vs. the run. Probably a situational pass rusher. 43 games 19.5 sacks 26 TFL 6 FF

Anfernee Jennings Alabama 6017 256 5th round
Strong guy with big guy background. Can jam a TE but not burst guy off the edge. Must learn to drop. Did not impress at the Senior Bowl 54g 193 t 14.5 sacks 3 ff 2 int
