Lions fire 2nd year OC Joe Lombardi. Lombardi came out of the Sean Payton system in New Orleans but never could move the ball at a consistent rate. The team leads the NFL in turnovers and is dead last in rushing.
The number one factor in this change is that the Lions could not adjust in game to defensive changes. Great examples were the San Diego game and the game vs. Minnesota. The same blitz kept getting home and hitting Staff. It was not a player being physically defeated and just need a chip or double. This was a scheme issue and no answer from the OC or Line coach.
