Detroit Lions promote WR Jace Billingsley IR Theo Riddick


Detroit Lions promote UDFA rookie WR Jace Billingsley to the 53 man roster. Billingsley was an unknown out of Eastern Oregon but impressed during camp and the preseason. He may be in the mix as a return man as Andre Roberts in banged up.

Detroit Lions re-sign CB Crezdon Butler place Stefan Charles on IR


Lions re-sign veteran CB Crezdon Butler. Butler spent last season and training camp in Detroit.
DT Stefan Charles was placed on IR with a knee injury. Charles played in 12 games 237 snaps and made 12 tackles. He is a free agent next season.

Detroit Lions promote CB Alex Carter from the practice squad.


Detroit Lions have promoted CB Alex Carter in preparation for the Monday Night Game against the Cowboys. Carter was a third round pick in the 2015 out of Stanford. He sat out all of 2015 with an ankle injury. He was completely lost during camp and the preseason. Carter has size and leaping ability but lacks speed and ball skills.

Carter will back up the starters Johnson Bademosi and Nevin Lawson. Asa Jackson will be in the slot. Look for a good dose of the three safety look from Teryl Austin.
